Teri A. Stewart

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Teri graduated from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene’s School of Cytotechnology in 2000.  Her first job as a cytotechnologist was in Boise, ID where she stayed until 2009.  In 2009, Teri took a job in Dubuque, IA as a cytotechnologist and stayed until 2017 when she took a job as a cytotechnologist at UW Health/University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.  While at UW Hospital, Teri worked with cytotechnology students and pathology residents for five years and realized she wanted to work in education.  She finished a masters in education and began working part-time with the Cytotechnology Program in 2020.  In 2022, she took a permanent position with the Cytotechnology Program.

Teri has over 20 years of experience with conducting FNAs (Fine needle aspirations) as well as experience screening FNAs, body fluids, conventional Paps, Thin Prep and Surepath slides.  She also has experience assisting in molecular, cytoprep and histology departments.  Teri has also been on on-call certified CAP Laboratory Inspector since 2006 and is certified with both the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the International Academy of Cytology (IAC).  She is also a member of the ASC and ASCT and is on the ASC Ethics and Conduct Committee.
