Cytotechnologists are medical laboratory professionals who specialize in finding and diagnosing cancer cells under the microscope. Our accelerated post-baccalaureate program prepares you for this rewarding career in just one year.

The Cytotechnology Program is located in the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, on Henry Mall in the heart of the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. Founded in 1957, the Cytotechnology Program, formerly known as the School of Cytotechnology, is part of the ­Laboratory of Genetics within the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
